IPTV Service to Start in Changchun, China

According to Chinabyte, CCTV and a local subsidiary of China Netcom have joined hands to launch commercial IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) service in the Chinese city of Changchun, with Huawei supplying IPTV equipment. Following Harbin and Shanghai, Changchun is reportedly to be the third city in China to deliver such services.

Meanwhile, Guangdong Telecom and SMC (Southern Media Cooperation) have reportedly signed a cooperative agreement, whereby both parties plan to deploy and commercialize IPTV service in seven major cities of Guangdong province, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Foshan, Shantou, Zhuhai, and Zhongshan.
